Car bomb kills 13 at Peshawar bus stop near Kohat Road

PESHAWAR – At least 13 persons were killed and 35 others injured when a powerful car bomb blast ripped through a bus terminal on Thursday.
The attack happened on the road towards Kohat.
“The death toll in the car bomb blast has now risen to 13 while more than 35 have been wounded,” a police official said.
The explosive material was planted in a car parked inside Kohat Bus Stand, police sources divulged. The crowded bus terminal is mostly used by the people of southern districts of Karak, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and some tribal agencies. The blast created panic among the people as its sound was heard across the city and jolted the entire area.
More than one dozen vehicles were damaged while body organs of the victims were strewn all over the blast site.
Edhi ambulances and Rescue 1122 squad rushed to the site and started rescue activities. They shifted the injured persons to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.
Ten persons were received dead including two children and three other succumbed to their injuries while condition of three others was critical, hospital sources said. Soon after the incident law enforcement agencies declared high alert in Peshawar and security was beefed up. Police and security personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.

Blast in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: One person was killed while 28 others were injured in a blast near a building on the University Town of Peshawar on Tuesday, said the police.
SSP Operations Tahir Ayyub confirmed that the bomb had been planted on a motorcycle and added that it weighed between 3-4 kilogrammes.
SP Cantt Mian Mohammad Saeed said that around 20 shops were also partially damaged in the explosion in the Azam Tower. The basement of the tower caught fire after the explosion.
The local rescue workers, however, say that they have shifted at least 12 injured people to the hospital.
The building was used by shops selling electronic equipment.
A portion of the road has been blocked for the traffic after the incident.
The nature of the explosion is still uncertain; however, initial reports suggest that it may be a gas cylinder blast.

Heavy traffic jam in Peshawar

The local people of Peshawar are facing road traffic problems from the last few days. The road from Shuba Bazar till Saddar is completely blocked from the last two hours and the locals facing the problems are totally disappointed from the management of the traffic police.
